{"id":190,"date":"2011-09-02T13:21:29","date_gmt":"2011-09-02T13:21:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/adilfahim.com\/myblog\/?p=190"},"modified":"2011-09-02T13:21:29","modified_gmt":"2011-09-02T13:21:29","slug":"changing-data-source-abap-to-databasedefault-in-sap-enterprise-portal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/adilfahim.com\/myblog\/changing-data-source-abap-to-databasedefault-in-sap-enterprise-portal\/","title":{"rendered":"Changing data source ABAP to Database(default) in SAP Enterprise Portal."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, I faced an issue in which I had to change the User Data Source of the portal to Database but I didn&#8217;t see the default option.<\/p>\n<p>I got stuck after changing Portal &#8212; User Management &#8212; Identity Management &#8212; Data Source &#8212;- Database only to ABAP System.<\/p>\n<p>After restarting the instance the value of Data Source shows only ABAP system &amp; for somehow if you want to revert to Database only, it\u2019s not possible. There is no any other options rather than ABAP System.<\/p>\n<p>As per SAP note <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">718383<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>dataSourceConfiguration_abap.xml<\/p>\n<p>No change is possible.<\/p>\n<p>This configuration supports all usages (especially SAP Exchange Infrastructure and SAP Enterprise Portal) by making ABAP users and ABAP roles available as users and groups in the UME, and supports the creation of new groups in the UME (which are then stored in the local database) as well.<\/p>\n<p>The below SDN thread talks about same issue:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/webmail.in.fai.fujitsu.com\/owa\/redir.aspx?C=fc1977c0bfeb456ebd118d25862ecc12&amp;URL=http%3a%2f%2fforums.sdn.sap.com%2fthread.jspa%3fmessageID%3d10568533\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/forums.sdn.sap.com\/thread.jspa?messageID=10568533<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">SOLUTION:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can change the database only(default) option by editing UME properties in Config Tool.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Steps to follow:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Config Tool &#8212; Global server configuration &#8211; services &#8211; com.sap.security.core.ume.service<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 ume.persistence.data_source_configuration (Make this value Restore to Default)<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Restart the instance.<\/p>\n<p>Now when you check again in Portal&#8212; User Management &#8212; Identity Management &#8212; Data Source<\/p>\n<p>It will show the Database only(Default) value.<\/p>\n<p>Enjoy!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently, I faced an issue in which I had to change the User Data Source of the portal to Database but I didn&#8217;t see the default option.
